NatureQuest Trails was born from a simple yet powerful vision during a transformative hiking expedition in the coastal mountains of British Columbia in 2018. Our founder, Alexandra Morrison, an environmental scientist and passionate outdoors enthusiast, recognized a growing disconnect between adventure tourism and environmental stewardship. After witnessing the impact of irresponsible tourism on pristine wilderness areas, she assembled a team of like-minded conservationists and outdoor experts to create something different.
Starting with just three guided tours and a commitment to zero-waste expeditions, NatureQuest Trails quickly gained recognition for our innovative approach to eco-tourism. We pioneered the integration of educational conservation programs into adventure tours, teaching participants not just how to hike, but how to become guardians of the wilderness. Our early success came from word-of-mouth recommendations from adventurers who appreciated our authentic connection to nature and unwavering environmental ethics.
By 2020, we had expanded our operations to include specialized wilderness survival courses, photography expeditions, and multi-day backcountry adventures. Despite challenges during the global pandemic, we adapted by offering virtual nature experiences and local micro-adventures that kept our community connected. Today, we're proud to have guided over 5,000 adventurers through British Columbia's most spectacular landscapes while maintaining our founding principle: leave every trail better than we found it.
Our journey has been marked by continuous learning, community building, and innovation in sustainable tourism practices. We've formed partnerships with indigenous communities, collaborated with conservation organizations, and invested in trail restoration projects. Every tour we offer is designed not just as an adventure, but as an opportunity to forge a deeper relationship with the natural world and inspire lifelong environmental advocacy.
